Qalb it-Tfal Foundation is strongly committed to offering support and improving the lives of children in need, by offering; psychological, financial, materialistic and emotional support to them but also supporting the needs of the Neo-Natal Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU), which includes the children recovering within the NPICU, their parents and the staff that support all the needs of these vulnerable children.

Why does QIT do this?

To provide the best possible support within the NPICU and towards neglected children within the Maltese society.

What is the NPICU?

The NPICU is an intensive care unit within Mater Dei Hospital for newborns and children up to the age of three. Newborns and young children requiring intensive care are admitted to this ward from the Emergency Department, Paediatric Wards, Delivery Suite, Obstetric Wards and Operating Theatres. A team of highly experienced nurses and midwives tend to the newborn/young child whilst on the unit.
